John attained his degree from Reading University by correspondence course, whilst working full-time. With over 20 years experience working in the industry, John is one of the more dynamic members of the property profession. As MD of Aston Rose, he deals with the strategic elements of running the company, and is Director in charge of the Property Management and Professional Services departments.

Since the tender age of 18 John has been actively involved with RICS at local, national and international levels – even making it to Senior Vice-President. He is a keen skier, enjoys the film industry and ‘experimental’ cooking.

James heads up the building consultancy team. He has experience in all aspects of building surveying and project management, with instructions ranging from small works contracts on multi-occupancy residential blocks to the fit-out of 42,000 sq ft of a new head office (including space planning/logistics and move management of people and equipment). Whatever the project, James likes to take a hands-on approach.

James is a member of the International RICS matrics Council and in his spare time enjoys motor sports, snow boarding and hitting the decks - in a DJ sense!

Whether it is devising investment strategies, disposing of property or negotiating the purchase of a multi-million pound investment, Ken has the knowledge and experience. He provides these services for a diverse range of private and institutional clients.

Ken is an active member of The Chartered Surveyors’ Company and, time permitting, enjoys golf, skiing and attending as many wine courses as possible.

Tim qualified as a general practice surveyor way back in the 1980s (actually 1989). Prior to setting up Aston Rose, he worked in the industrial and business space department of Dron & Wright. He has a vast amount of experience in the acquisition and disposal of all types of commercial property throughout the UK.

Tim is a member of RICS International Governing Council and has particular interest in education issues for the profession. He is passionate about football – which is a shame considering he supports Wolverhampton Wanderers FC and the national England team. He also enjoys a wide taste in music and literature.

Duncan joined Aston Rose early in 2009, prior to which he was a Director at Jones Lang LaSalle where he worked for 24 years. At JLL Duncan was responsible for mortgage valuations, balance sheet, unit pricing and stock exchange purposes for all types of commercial property, throughout the UK., owned by institutions, corporate and private investors. He also provided strategic and asset management advice. As Director of Valuation at Aston Rose, Duncan undertakes work for owners, occupiers and lenders and he is also an Expert Witness.

Duncan has been actively involved with the profession for over 25 years, holding a number of senior positions within RICS, including Vice-President. Duncan currently sits on the Governing Council and is Chairman of the Estate Strategy Committee.

In his spare time (depending on the time of year) Duncan can be found on the golf course, on the ski slopes or setting off fireworks!

Mark joined Aston Rose in 2005 from the Sussex-based commercial property practice, Tod Miller Thomas, where he was Partner. Mark deals with acquisitions and disposals throughout the UK, with specialist knowledge of the south-east market.

Mark is a keen skiier. Together with his wife, Kirstie, he used to run his own a chalet in Chamonix but had to sack himself because he was getting a reputation as the ’Basil Fawlty’ of chalet hosts - he wasn’t particularly friendly and didn’t like guests!

In addition to skiing, Mark regular plays hockey and enjoys golf.

Paul joined Aston Rose as Director for Southern England and runs the company’s first regional office in Worthing.

He has over 22 years commercial property experience in Sussex, having lived and worked in the area most of his life. He started his agency career with Stiles Harold Williams in Brighton and then spent time at Pepper Fox in Crawley and Humberts in Brighton, where he concentrated on the leisure sector. Paul joined Aston Rose from Cluttons Tod Miller, where he was responsible for business space agency.

Paul enjoys visiting the gym and playing cricket. He also likes to regularly pose on yachts and, time permitting, gets involved in the odd bout of child rearing!

Giuliano is Director of Investment, based in Milan.

Originally from Sardinia, he joined Aston Rose in 2001 as a trainee (his only previous UK work experience being at our local bar, Finos!). Since then Giuliano graduated from Reading University with a BSc (Hons) in Estate Management in 2006 and qualified as a chartered surveyor in 2008.

Giuliano moved out to Milan in June 2009 where he is concentrating on investment work - acting on behalf of Italian investors purchasing UK property and vice-versa.

He is keen on motorsport, football and riding his Ducate 749 (in fine weather!).
