Captain Tom 100 – mission accomplished . . .

The family of Captain Tom launched the ‘Captain Tom 100’ campaign encouraging everyone up and down the country to take on a challenge for a charity of their choice over what would have been his birthday weekend (30 April – 3 May 2021).

Jane Preston (Director of Marketing & HR at Aston Rose) decided to plant 100 plants for others to enjoy.  Her back (and nail) breaking (!) challenge was all in aid Kidasha – the charity that improves the lives of children living in extreme poverty in one of the poorest countries in the world, Nepal.  Indeed, since completing the challenge Nepal has been overwhelmed by Covid which means your sponsorship is even more valuable.

Jane raised just over £1,800 from her toil in the soil.  A big thank you to everyone who donated.

By the way, she planted: 5 agapthanus; 3 euonymus, 4 geraniums; 18 sweet williams; 12 trailing fushias; 12 bacopia; 12 trailing geraniums; 8 African marigolds; 10 petunias; 8 nemesia; 4 dianthus; 1 hydrangea; 12 pansies; 6 impatiens; 8 monkey flowers; 1 clematis; and, 1 rose bush!
