Goal Fest Sadly Short-Lived

The Aston Rose 5-a-side football team got off to a fantastic start last night at the RICS matrics tournament, winning their opening group match against Grosvenor Systems Limited 4-0. But, after showing such early promise, they lost the following match to London Transport 0-5 and then, despite a piece of individual brilliance from Nick Short with a superb volleyed goal, they lost again 4-1 to Copping Joyce. The final match saw them playing for pride and they managed a 1-1 draw against EC Harris, thanks to a last-minute penalty save from Rob Cragg. Still, ’an early bath’ meant more beer time and post-match scrutiny. The team comprised: Liam Brennan, Rob Cragg, Paul Crowe (Captain), Mickey Fiori, Tim Richards and Nick Short.
