Landmark Retail Development Underway

Construction has begun on a new mixed use development at Worthing’s ”gateway” entrance, on the corner of the A24 (Chapel Road) and Newland Road. The £5.5m development, which replaces the former Norfolk Hotel, will comprise 51 flats and approximately 10,000 sq ft of ground floor retail space. The development features a striking contemporary design and benefits from a large customer car park to the rear. The retal element can be sub-divided to three units to suit requirements. The uni(s) are available to rent.

The scheme, due for completion in mid-2009, is likely to appeal to edge of town retailers and showroom operators requiring substantial open plan retailing space, although potential also exists (subject to planning) for restaurant or similar uses.
