Meeting Government Officials in Guangzhou

Day Two of the UKTI Mission to China (Guangzhou) Today we made the short transfer to Guangzhou, the capital of the Guangdong Province. Guangzhou, known as the ”City of Flowers”, is the province’s political, economic and cultural centre and a fast growing tourist destination for both domestic and foreign visitors. Here we were introduced to the Province by the Yuexiu District Mayor, during which he emphasised how much the region welcomes foreign business. We were then given the opportunity to introduce ourselves and our own individual business interests. The meeting was attended by a number of local government officials, in addition to the local television. We then visited the Technology and Enterprise Park, another impressive scheme focussing primarily on new technologies. The tour of a media company was fascinating. To round off our day we enjoyed another fine Dinner Reception at the Dong Fang Hotel accompanied by the Mayor’s representatives.
