Top 5 Finish In London TowerAthlon

Team Aston Rose battled stormy conditions, a vertigo-inducing abseil and gruelling running and cycling challenges at Broadgate Tower to finish in a very creditable fifth position at this year’s TowerAthlon event, organised by LandAid and the Worshipful Company of Chartered Surveyors. Over 200 property professionals competed in a 539 ft abseil down the Tower (Aston Rose represented by Agnese Erina), an 877-stair run up the Tower (Alex Wilshaw) and a 10-minute sprint cycle (Phil Richards) on the plaza below – raising a fantastic £40,000 for the charity. All proceeds from the event will help create new accommodation in the City of London for 146 young people who are facing homelessness. Run by the City YMCA London, the new accommodation will provide shelter and wrap-around support for vulnerable Londoners aged 16-24, many of whom have left care, have poor mental health, have suffered abuse or have been excluded from mainstream education. If you would still like to donate to the team’s efforts, please contact Phil Richards (philrichards@astonrose.co.uk).
