Wye 100 Challenge – the final countdown . . .

The Team’s final training session took place on Sunday in somewhat challenging conditions down on the Thames.  It was cold and windy, but the river was weirdly calm which basically meant that if they stopped paddling, then they went backwards!  After setting off at Henley in the morning, a rather grueling 9 hours laters (yes 9 HOURS!!) saw them complete the session at Windsor.  A very long day, but one they will have to repeat over four consecutive days for the Challenge this coming Bank Holiday weekend.  Still, they did get to rescue a lamb from the clutches of the river . . .

 

The Aston Rose Team – Rob Cragg, Jon Thorp, Tom Cole and Dom Clarke – together with their 12 canoeing team mates, are edging closer to their overall fund-raising target of £30,000.  This will be a massive amount of money for Kidasha.  So, all of you who have pledged your support to date – you are fabulous, thank you.  For those who haven’t yet got around to doing so, then the link to our fundraising page is uk.virginmoneygiving.com/Team/TeamAstonRoseWye100Challenge
