Ken Morgan installed as Master . . .

The Worshipful Company of Chartered Surveyors installs Aston Rose Director, Ken Morgan FRICS, as Master.  Ken is a Founding Partner at Aston Rose, an independent multi-disciplinary Chartered Surveying practice and heads up the Investment team.

Ken Morgan, says: “It is a huge honour and privilege to be appointed the 44th Master of The Worshipful Company of Chartered Surveyors, succeeding John Woodman, Senior Partner at Hollis.

To say 2020 has been challenging is an understatement and I am under no illusion that the next 6-12 months will be any easier but it is important we continue to make plans and set goals.  Education will remain a key focus for the Livery, particularly bearing in mind the disruption caused by COVID-19 on children and young adults and I am so pleased that this year we are supporting over 20 students in further education through our bursaries.  We can all play our part, as well, by getting involved with mentoring young people and offering work experience, something that will be essential if we are looking to not only retain, but attract the next generation into our profession.

The Livery only exists because of the support and collaboration of like-minded people.  Because of this, the excellent work already achieved across careers, education and in the support of our four military affiliates, can continue.”

The history of Livery Companies dates back over 800 years.  Today there are 110 companies, comprising of both ancient and modern trade associations and guilds and The Chartered Surveyors’ Company (formed in 1977), is one of the ‘modern liveries’ of the City of London.  Its purpose is to contribute to British national life by supporting the property profession and through its wider charitable activities to be a force for good in advancing education and helping young people achieve their potential.
